I’m Karen Palmer, a Talent Development Consultant focused on human dynamics in the workplace. I specialize in developing leaders and optimizing team dynamics. I create opportunities for improvement through self-awareness, understanding of others and intentional interaction. With over 30 years in learning and development, I am dedicated to helping people tap into their potential, fostering cultures of fulfillment and purpose. My style is interactive and hands on. I provide tools and a framework that invite self-reflection and critical thinking in a positive, non-judgmental space. I believe development should be fun and take every opportunity to incorporate active experiential learning.

As your consultant, we are partners in your success. My work starts with getting a thorough understanding of your current state and desired future state. This means we are going to get to know each other’s business! After identifying root causes and viable outcomes, I develop customized solutions. Utilizing my expertise in learning and development as well as data rich reports, I provide results driven plans that enable sustained culture shifts. Along the way, plans are constantly assessed, measured and adapted if necessary.
Karen’s Story
With over 26 years in culture development, I have devoted my life to fostering growth and learning in others. My journey began in public education. Creating healthy, productive cultures was an ongoing area of intrigue and development for me. As the leader of my own classroom and part of the leadership team at the school and district level, I experienced the impact culture has and the role a great leader plays in making that happen.
In 2011, my school became a Leader In Me school, utilizing the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People developed by Stephen Covey. As I saw what an intentional focus on individual potential and school culture, supported by powerful tools, could do, my next calling became clear to me. I wanted to bring this practice to other organizations and individuals.
In 2015, I made the leap into my second career and established KLPalmer Consulting, LLC. Shortly after, I joined the Talent Development team at Vail Resorts. As a Senior Specialist, I honed my skills and expanded my knowledge in effective consulting, leadership development and organizational effectiveness. This experience with a successful, growing corporation gave me valuable insights and experiences I can now utilize in helping others navigate their path.
Today I work with small businesses and organizations, helping them move from where they are to where they want to be. I bring value through ongoing leadership development and improving team dynamics, fostering connection, understanding and removing barriers to success.
